This article studies families f: (\({\mathbb{C}}\times {\mathbb{C}}^{n+1},{\mathbb{C}}\times \{0\})\to ({\mathbb{C}},0)\) of hypersurface singularities and gives a numerical sufficient condition (asking that a finite set of numbers is independent of t for \(| t|\) small) which implies that \({\mathbb{C}}\times \{0\}\) satisfies Thom's condition at 0. This generalizes a classical result of \textit{Le Dung Trang} and \textit{K. Saito} in the isolated singularity case [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Ser. A 277, 793-795 (1973; Zbl 0283.32007)]. The case of one dimensional singular sets has been previously obtained by the author [Math. Ann. 282, 33-49 (1988; Zbl 0657.32005)].
