A fibered incidence group is completely determined by a group (G,\(\cdot)\) and a set \({\mathcal F}\) consisting of proper subgroups of G such that \(\cup {\mathcal F}=G\) and \(\forall X,Y\in {\mathcal F}:\) \(X\cap Y=\{1\}\). If furthermore \(\forall g\in G\), \(\forall X\in {\mathcal F}:\) \(gXg^{-1}\in {\mathcal F}\), then (G,\({\mathcal F},\cdot)\) determines a kinematic space. The authors are studying the automorphism group \(\Gamma =Aut(G,{\mathcal F},\cdot)\) of the fibered group (G,\({\mathcal F},\cdot)\) consisting of all group automorphisms \(\gamma\) with the additional property \(\gamma\) (X)\(\in {\mathcal F}\) for all \(X\in {\mathcal F}\). First they list some fibered groups where \(\Gamma =Aut(G,\cdot)\). For kinematic spaces (G,\({\mathcal F},\cdot)\) derived from the algebra of all \(2\times 2\) matrices over a commutative field K (i.e. the kinematic spaces of hyperbolic planes) [cf. Rings and geometry, Proc. NATO Adv. Study Inst., Istanbul/Turkey 1984, NATO ASI Ser., Ser. C 160, 437-509 (1985; Zbl 0598.51012)] they show that \(\Gamma =\tilde G\cdot Aut(K,+,\cdot)\) is the semidirect product of the group \(\tilde G\) of all inner automorphisms of G and the automorphism group of the field \((K,+,\cdot)\). They obtain the same result if (G,\({\mathcal F},\cdot)\) is the kinematic space of an elliptic plane, hence derived from a quaternion division algebra. To each kinematic space (G,\({\mathcal F},\cdot)\) there belongs the linear incidence structure \({\mathcal L}:=\{aX|\) \(a\in G\), \(X\in {\mathcal F}\}\) with the two parallelisms ``\(A\|_{\ell}B:\Leftrightarrow\) \(A^{-1}A=B^{-1}B\)'' and ``\(A\|_ rB:\Leftrightarrow\) \(AA^{-1}=BB^{-1}\)'' on (G,\({\mathcal L})\). The automorphism group Aut(G,\({\mathcal L},\|_{\ell}\), \(\|_ r)=G_{\ell}\cdot \Gamma\) is the semidirect product where \(G_{\ell}:=\{g_{\ell}|\) \(g\in G\}\) with \(g_{\ell}: G\to G\); \(x\to gx\). Therefore with the determination of \(\Gamma\) the automorphism group of the double space (G,\({\mathcal L},\|_{\ell},\|_ r)\) is known.
