Let \(\alpha >0\) and A be the algebra of entire functions in \({\mathbb{C}}^ 2\) of order \(\alpha\) and minimal type. The main theorem of this paper is the following: Let f be an entire function of the single variable z and p(z,w) a polynomial of total degree \(m\geq 1\) such that \(m=\deg p=\deg_ wp\), i.e., the degree of p as an element in \({\mathbb{C}}[z][w]\) is also m. Consider the function \(F(z,w)=f(z)+p(z,w)\in A\) and the principal ideal I generated by F in A. Recall that I is said to be complemented if there is a continuous projection in A whose range is I. Theorem: I is complemented if and only if f is a polynomial.
