The main purpose of this paper is to survey the study of integrations obtained by the method of ranked spaces introduced by K. Kunugi in 1954. First, basic notions of ranked spaces are discussed. Next, Kunugi's formulation for integrals is developed. It is notable that the author explains this integration theory in the situation of relation \(\rho\), which is previously introduced by her as a suitable notion to define the classes of fundamental sequences called maximal collections. Then the (E.R.) integral, (E.R.\(\phi\)) integral, the Denjoy integral in the restricted sense and the Lebesgue integral can be formulated by the suitable conditions, respectively. Finally, it is shown that the (E.R.) integral, the (E.R.\(\phi\)) integral and other new integrals can be obtained as completions of the class of step functions by the method of ranked spaces if the idea of (A) integral is used.
