We consider the system \[ (1)\quad x\frac{d\phi}{dx}=(\sum^{q}_{i=0}A_ ix^ i)\phi, \] where \(\phi =\phi (x)\) is an n-vector, \(A_ i\) are constant quadratic matrices, \(q\geq 1\), \(x\in {\mathbb{C}}\). In a neighbourhood of each of the two singular points of the system \((x=0\) and \(x=\infty)\) a fundamental family of solutions (f.f.s.) can be constructed. In order to investigate the connection between these two f.f.s, a global representation of the f.f.s. by Mellin-Barnes integrals is used. The functions under the integral signs have to satisfy a difference equation which is closely related to the equation which determines the coefficients of the power series representation of the f.f.s at \(x=0\). By investigating the behaviour of the integrals at \(x=0\) and their asymptotics as \(x\to \infty\), we obtain expressions which describe the connection between the two f.f.s. of equation (1).
