    Authors consider the following time-periodic boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} u_{t} & = -a_{1} \nabla^{4} u + a_{2} \nabla^{2} u + a \nabla^{2} u^{3} + G(u) + f(x, t), \quad x\in\Omega,\;t\in\mathbb R, \\ u(x, t) & = \nabla^{2} u(x, t) = 0, \quad x\in\partial\Omega,\;t\in\mathbb R, \\ u(x, t) & = u(x, t + \omega), \quad x\in\Omega,\;t\in\mathbb R, \end{aligned} \] where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^{2}\) with the smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(\omega > 0\) is a constant and \(f(x, t)\) is \(\omega\)-periodic function with respect to \(t\). The one-dimensional case of the stated time-periodic boundary value problem was studied by \textit{Y. Wang} and \textit{G. Chen} in [Acta Math. Sci., Ser. A, Chin. Ed. 26, No. 2, 258--266 (2006; Zbl 1136.35401)]. The authors prove by Galerkin method the existence and uniqueness of time-periodic generalized solutions and time-periodic classical solutions of the stated problem.
