Cluster categories were introduced by \textit{P. Caldero, F. Chapoton} and \textit{R. Schiffler} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 358, No. 3, 1347-1364 (2006; Zbl 1137.16020)] for type \(A\) and for arbitrary acyclic quivers by \textit{A. B. Buan, R. J. Marsh, M. Reineke, I. Reiten} and \textit{G. Todorov} [Adv. Math. 204, No. 2, 572-618 (2006; Zbl 1127.16011)] in order to model the combinatorics of a cluster algebra. Cluster-tilted algebras arise from cluster categories as endomorphism algebras of cluster-tilting objects; see \textit{A. B. Buan, R. J. Marsh} and \textit{I. Reiten} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 359, No. 1, 323-332 (2007; Zbl 1123.16009)]. In this article, the author classifies cluster-tilted algebras arising from a cluster category of type \(A\) up to derived equivalence. The only cycles in the quivers of such algebras are 3-cycles, and it is shown that two such algebras are derived equivalent if and only if their quivers have the same number of 3-cycles.
