The authors present a unified approach to the local existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions to problems for the class of second order in time semilinear partial differential equations including perturbed sine-Gordon equation, perturbed wave equation of quantum mechanics, perturbed viscous Cahn-Hilliard equation and wave equation with structural damping. The results are compared with the results in the references.
