Quasi-duo skew polynomial rings. (Q927333)

An associative ring with a unit element is right (left) quasi-duo if every maximal left (right) ideal is a two-sided one. Suppose that \(R\) is a domain with an automorphism \(\sigma\). If the skew-polynomial ring \(R[x;\sigma]\) is right quasi-duo, then \(R\) is commutative and \(\sigma=1\). There are found necessary and sufficient conditions under which \(R[x;\sigma]\) is right (left) quasi-duo.
