In case of a non degenerate Blaschke hypersurface \(f:M^n \rightarrow\mathbb R^{n+1}\), the Blaschke normal \(\xi\) is a transversal vector field. If the same holds for the position vector \(f\), there exists a nonvanishing function \(\rho\), so that \(f=\rho\xi+Z\) where \(Z\) is a tangential vector field. The map \(c_f=f-\rho\xi\) is called the center map of \(f\). Surfaces which are centroaffinely congruent to the center map where first studied by \textit{H. Furuhata} and \textit{L. Vrancken} [Result. Math. 49, 201--217 (2006; Zbl 1117.53015)]. The case of positive definite improper affine hyperspheres with selfcongruent center map was discussed by the present author [Monatsh. Math. 152, 73--81 (2007; Zbl 1137.53006)]. In the present paper, locally strongly convex hypersurfaces in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) with the property of self congruent center map are studied in the case when the shape operator \(S\) of \(f\) has \(n\) distinct nonzero eigenvalues at every point. The solutions turn out to be canonical in the sense of \textit{A. M. Li} and \textit{C. P. Wang} [Result. Math. 20, 660--681 (1991; Zbl 0752.53010)], i.e., the centroaffine metric \(h^c\) of \(f\) is flat and \({\nabla}^cK^c=0\) where \(K^c={\nabla}^c-{\nabla}^{h^c}\). \(\nabla^c\) and \(\nabla^{h^c}\) denote the centroaffinely induced connection and the Levi-Civita connection of \(h^c\), respectively. Furthermore, these surfaces are classified explicitly.
