The paper investigates the global robust asymptotic stability of bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with time-varying delays and norm-bounded uncertainties. In the mathematical model of this kind of BAM neural networks it is assumed that the neuron activation functions are bounded and satisfy a Lipschitz conditions, the time-varying delays are bounded and the derivatives of the time-varying delays are less than one. By constructing different Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and using inequality technique and zero equations with free parameters, a new criterion for global robust asymptotic stability of the BAM neural networks is presented in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). This criterion is dependent on the size of the time delays and the derivative of the time-varying delays, which is usually less conservative than delay-independent ones.
