Internal nonnegative stabilization for some parabolic equations (Q928308)

The authors study the zero-stabilization of the nonnegative solutions to some parabolic equations. The nonnegative stabilizability is provided via the sign of the first eigenvalue of a certain elliptic operator. A necessary and sufficient condition for nonnegative stabilizability is proved. Some evaluations of the principal eigenvalue with respect to the geometry of the domain are given. Using the same ideas the authors prove a stabilization result for an age-dependent population dynamics with diffusion.
