Suppose that \(A_v(z),\dots,A_0(z)\) are analytic functions without common zeros on the whole complex plane \(C\) and the indecomposable equation \[ A_v(z)w^v+A_{v-1}(z)w^{v-1}+\cdots +A_0(z)=0 \eqno(1) \] defines a v-valued algebroid function \(w(z)\) on the complex plane. In particular, when \(v=1\), \(w(z)\) is exactly a meromorphic function. By using Ahlfors' covering surface method, the author first established the existence of a T direction for an algebroid function on the whole complex plane and obtained the follows theorem: Provided that \(w(z)\) is a \(v-\)valued algebroid function defined by (1) and satisfies \(\limsup\limits_{r\rightarrow\infty}\frac{T(r,w) }{(\log r)^{2}}=+\infty,\) then there exists a ray \(\arg z=\theta\)(namely a T direction) such that for any arbitrary small \(\varepsilon>0\), \[ \limsup\limits_{r\rightarrow\infty}\frac{ N(r,\Delta(\theta,\varepsilon),a)}{T(r,w)}>0, \] holds for any given \(a\) in \({\mathbf {\overline{C}}}\) with at most \(2v\) exceptions. Recently, \textit{Z.-X. Xuan} gave a better result [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341, No.~1, 540--547 (2008; Zbl 1142.30012)].
