The author considers the class of so called SGN groups. By definition, a group \(G\) is an SGN group if the centralizer \(C_G(H)\) is not contained in \(H\) for every proper subgroup \(H\) of \(G\). For instance, every Abelian group is SGN. The author gives a series of basic properties of this class of groups. In particular, he shows that there exist nonabelian SGN groups and that every SGN group is locally nilpotent. Among principal results, there are also some properties of Chernikov SGN groups, of soluble SGN groups \dots.
