The author investigates the existence of multiple positive solutions of the differential equation \[ y^{(2n)}= h(t) f(t,y,y'',\dots, y^{(2(n- 2))}, y^{(2(n- 1))})\quad\text{for }0< t< 1 \] subject to the boundary conditions \[ y^{(2i)}(0)= y^{(2i)}(1)= 0,\quad i= 0,1,\dots, n-1 \] or \[ y^{(2i)}(0)= 0,\;y^{(2i)}(1)= \sum^{m-2}_{j=1} k_{ij} y^{(2i)}(\xi_j),\quad i=0,1,\dots, n-1. \] To this end he introduces a nonlinear integral operator and a corresponding linear operator defined on \(C[0,1]\). Using the Krein-Rutman theorem and the fixed point index, the author establishes the existence of multiple positive solutions of the integral operator which correspond to the solutions of the boundary value problems mentioned above.
