A valuation ring in a division ring \(D\) is a subring \(V\) such that \(x^{-1}\in V\) for any \(x\in D\setminus V\). Suppose that \(K\) is a division ring with an automorphism \(\sigma\). A Gauss extension \(S\) of \(V\) in the division ring \(K(X,\sigma)\) of the skew Laurent polynomial ring \(K[X^{\pm 1},\sigma]\) is a valuation ring of \(K(X,\sigma)\) such that \(S\cap K=V\) and \((\sum_ja_jX^j)S=a_iX^iS\), \(a_j\in K\), provided \(a_iX^iS\supseteq a_jX^jS\) for all \(j\). It was shown by \textit{H. H. Brungs, H. Marubayashi} and \textit{E. Osmanagic}, [J. Algebra 316, No. 1, 189-205 (2007; Zbl 1131.16021)], that the classification of Gauss extensions is reduced to the graded case when \(S=\sum_{i\in\mathbb{Z}}A_iX^i\), \(A_i\subseteq K\), \(A_0=V\). Put \(O_l(A_1)=\{k\in K\mid kA_1\subseteq A_1\}\). There is found a classification of \(A\) in the case when \(A_1=O_l(A_1)a=a\sigma(O_l(A_1))\) and under some minor restrictions on \(A_{-1}\). A complete description of each \(A_i\) is obtained in the case when \(A_1\) is a finitely generated left \(O_l(A_1)\)-module.
