The author considers a degenerate parabolic system \[ U_t-\Delta (|U|^{m-1}U)=0, \] where \(U(x, t)=(u_1, u_2, \cdots, u_l)\) is a vector function and \(m>1\). The system can be derived from a time-dependent p-curl system which describes Bean's critical-state model in the superconductivity theory. The maximum principle does not holds for the above system, which differs from the scalar case. Using Rothe's method, the author established some uniform estimates for the approximation solution, and then proved the existence and uniqueness of solution. In addition, it is also shown that the weak solution is continuous and the modulus of continuity depends only on known data, but the Holder continuity of weak solution of the above system is still unsolved.
