Let \(G_n := \{ z \in \mathbb C^n : | z_1| (1+| z_2| ) < 1 , | z_j| < 1 \text{ if } j \geq 3 \}\). Consider a holomorphically contractible family of locally norm-bounded pseudometrics defined for domains in \(\mathbb C^n\); examples include the families of Kobayashi-Royden, Azukawa, and Carathéodory-Reiffen pseudometrics. The author proves that the associated Wu pseudometric (resp. unnormalized Wu pseudometric) on \(G_n\) is not upper semicontinuous at \((0;(1,0)) \in G_n \times \mathbb C^n\) provided \(n \geq 2\) (resp. \(n \geq 3\)). In each case he also constructs an increasing sequence of subdomains with union \(G_n\) such that the limit of their Wu pseudometrics is not the Wu pseudometric of \(G_n\). Finally, he gives formulas for the Wu pseudometrics on elementary Reinhardt domains.
