The authors describe low-dimensional cohomology with coefficients in the adjoint module and their Massey products, and deformations of the infinite-dimensional Lie algebra given by the basis \(\{e_1, e_2, \dots\}\) with multiplication table \([e_1,e_i] = e_{i+1}\), \(i\geq 2\), \([e_2,e_i] = e_{i+2}\), \(i\geq 3\) (all other products between basic elements vanish). The method consists of more or less direct computations. This Lie algebra, together with other two, exhaust all \(2\)-generated \(\mathbb N\)-graded Lie algebras with \(1\)-dimensional graded components. Low-dimensional cohomology and deformations of the other two Lie algebras were studied by the author(s) earlier.
