An advantageous method for solving variational inequality problems is the Douglas-Peaceman-Rachford-Varga operator splitting method (DPRV method). There is also another nice method called inexact self-adaptive operator splitting method; of course this is based on the DPRV method. In this paper, the authors relax the inexactness restriction further. They also present numerical experiments to indicate the improvement of this relaxation. The results of the paper demonstrate computational superiority over the original methods, in the sense that the number of calculations of the function values is reduced effectively. The results of the paper are attractive in practice.
