Nochka weight functions were introduced by \textit{E. I.~Nochka} [Sov. Math. Dokl. 27, 377--381 (1983; Zbl 0552.32024)] (see also [Math. Notes 78, No. 1, 105--113 (2005; Zbl 1088.32005)]) in order to prove a conjecture of H.~Cartan about holomorphic curves. Classically, Nochka weight functions are defined for finite subsets of \({\mathbb C}^n\setminus\{0\}\). However, for a given holomorphic curve the defect (in the sense of Nevanlinna theory) may be non-zero for countably infinitely many values. Hence it is interesting to develop a theory of Nochka weights for certain infinite sets. This is done by N.~Toda in this article.
