In classical Nielsen fixed point theory, the Nielsen number \(N(f)\) of a self map \(f:X\to X\) is either zero or is equal to the Reidemeister number \(R(f)\) if the so-called Jiang condition is satisfied. For coincidences one can say that a space \(M\) is of Jiang-type for coincidences if for any space \(X\) and any maps \(f,\,g:X\to M\) we have \(L(f,\,g)=0\) implies \(N(f,\,g)=0\) or \(L(f,\,g)\neq 0\) implies \(N(f,\,g)=R(f,\,g)\), where \(L(f,\,g)\), \(N(f,\,g)\) and \(R(f,\,g)\) denote the Lefschetz, Nielsen and Reidemeister coincidence numbers. Evidently, Jiang spaces are of Jiang-type for coincidences. Recently, some other examples have been discovered (for example, compact nilmanifolds). The main purpose of this paper is to show that orientable coset spaces are of Jiang-type for coincidences. The authors also investigate certain situations when the dimension of the domain space is greater than that of the target space.
