Motivated by the ideas introduced by \textit{M. Attene, B. Falaidieno, M. Spanuola}, and \textit{G. Wyvill} [Graph. Models 65, No. 5, 260--273 (2003; Zbl 1054.68153)], the authors propose an advancing front method to generate a triangular mesh on a parametric surface which is isotropic and therefore well adapted for the application of the finite elements method or the boundary element method. Such a mesh can be easily refined to get a better approximation of the surface. The authors also obtain a sufficient condition ensuring that a surface triangulation is of Delaunay type.
