For an \(n\times n\) complex matrix A, \(\text{sp}(A)\) and \(r(A) = \max_{\lambda\in \text{sp}(A)} | \lambda| \) denote the spectrum and spectral radius of \(A\). The spectral ball \(\Omega_n\) is the set of all \(n\times n\) complex matrices \(A\) for which \(r(A) <1\). In the paper, the authors study continuity properties of the Lempert function as well as the Kobayashi-Royden pseudo-metric for the domain \(\Omega_n\).
