The author studies second-order ordinary differential equations that model one-dimensional vibrations with impacts (which are treated as jumps of velocity). It is assumed that the corresponding Poincaré transformation has a hyperbolic invariant set. Conditions are given under which this hyperbolic set is preserved (up to topological equivalence) under \(C^1\)-small perturbations of the system (in particular, under small variations of the restitution coefficient).
