The paper considers the factorization problem for a class of \(n\times n\) matrix-functions \(G(t)\), generally unbounded, on some contour \(\Gamma\) in the complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\), bordering a multi-connected domain \(\Omega\), interior or exterior, where the matrix function \(G\) has a meromorphic continuation. For the Toeplitz operator \(T_p(G)\varphi:=P_+G\varphi\), \(\varphi\in{\mathcal{D}}_{p}(G):=\big\{\psi\in L^+_p(\Gamma):G\psi\in L_p(\Gamma)\big\}\), the authors consider the kernel \(N_{p,j}(G):=\) Ker \(T_p(t^-jG(t))\) and define \(\mu_p(G,j)=\dim M_{p,j}(G)\) as the dimension of the complemented space \(M_{p,j}(G)\) to \(N_{p,j}(G)+tN_{p,j}(G)\). In previous papers it was proved that \(\sum_{j\in\mathbb{Z}}N_{p,j}(G)\leq n\). If \(\sum_{j\in\mathbb{Z}}N_{p,j}(G)=n\), the matrix function \(G\) is said to admit an \((r_+,p)\)-indexation. The authors study the integers \(\mu_p(G,j)\), related to the ``index factorization'', which is a version of the Wiener-Hopf factorization. Some criterions for the index factorization and exact formulas for particular indices are found. If \(G\) has a Wiener-Hopf factorization, it has an index factorization and the corresponding partial indices coincide.
