This book provides an overview of the structure of stochastic fibrous materials, and the use of Mathematica code to develop models describing their structure and performance. The author classifies paper and similar composite materials as stochastic. He considers random structures to be a special class of stochastic fibrous materials. These materials possess the following properties: i) the fibres are deposited independently of one another; ii) they have an equal probability of landing at all points in the network and of making all possible angles with any arbitrary chosen, fixed axis. ``Departures from randomness'' can be caused by preferential orientation of fibres to a given direction, fibre clumping and/or dispersion. The book is divided into 7 chapters: 1. Introduction; 2. Statistical tools and terminology; 3. Planar Poisson point and line processes; 4. Poisson fibre processes I: fibre phase; 5. Poisson fibre processes II: void phase; 6. Stochastic departures from randomness; 7. Three-dimensional networks. This well-written book is a reader-friendly and good-organised manual in the field of composite materials. It can be highly recommended to experts in mechanics of solids, engineers, and to graduate, postgraduate and doctoral students.
