The authors consider a predator-prey population model with stage-structure and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. By transformation of variables, they obtain the non-dimensional system \[ \begin{aligned} \frac{dx}{dt}&= ax(t-\tau_1)-x^2(t)-\frac{bx(t)y(t)}{1+c_1x(t)+c_2y(t)},\\ \frac{dy}{dt}&= \frac{vx(t-\tau_2)y(t-\tau_2)}{1+c_1x(t-\tau_2)+c_2y(t-\tau_2)}-dy(t), \end{aligned} \] where \(x(t)\) and \(y(t)\) are densities of the mature prey and predator species respectively. There are two equilibria: \(E_0=(0,0)\) and \(E_1=(a,0)\). A positive equilibrium \(E_*=(x^*,y^*)\) exists if and only if \(\frac{av}{1+ac_1}>d\). The following conclusions are obtained in this article by using the persistence theory for infinite dimensional dynamical systems due to \textit{J. K. Hale} and \textit{P. Waltman} [SIAM J. Math. Anal. 20, 388--395 (1989; Zbl 0692.34053)], the method of Liapunov functional, linearization and a comparison therem. \(E_0\) is always unstable; \(E_1\) is global asymptotic stable if and only if \(\frac{av}{1+ac_1}\leq d\), unstable if \(\frac{av}{1+ac_1}>d\); \(E_*\) is globally attractive if \[ c_2>\max \bigg\{\frac{b(v-c_1d)}{d},\frac{b(v-c_1d)}{a(v-c_1d)-d},\frac{b}{a}\bigg\} \quad\text{and}\quad \frac{av}{1+ac_1}>d. \]
