The Feichtinger conjecture says that every bounded frame can be written as the finite disjoint union of Riesz basic sequences. The article contains discussion of this conjecture. Sufficient conditions on sets \(E\subset [0,1]\) and \(\Lambda \subset \mathbb{R} \) are given so that \(\{ \exp (2\pi i x \lambda) 1_E: \lambda \in \Lambda \}\) can be uniformly partitioned into Riesz sequences.
