    By applying the principle of extrapolation to the Cayley transform \(F(A)=(I+A)^{-1} (I-A)\), the authors generalize it to the extrapolated Cayley transform \(F(\omega A) = (I+\omega A)^{-1} (I - \omega A)\). Then, they determine in an optimal sense the extrapolation parameter involved so that the problems in many practical applications are solved much more efficiently.
