The authors studies the connection between long-time Strichartz estimates and local smoothing estimates for Schrödinger equations with \(C^2\), asymptotically flat coefficients. Given a time-dependent second order elliptic operator in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) \[ A(t,x,D):=D_ia^{ij}(t,x)\Delta_j+ b^i(t,x)D_i+D_ib^i(t,x)+c(t,x),\tag{1} \] the authors consider the dispersive properties of solutions to the Schrödinger evolution \[ Pu:=(D_t+A(t,x,D))u=f,\;u(0)=u_0.\tag{2} \] The authors consider the case of large perturbations in three increasingly favourable scenarios: a) without non-trapping assumptions the authors prove estimates outside a compact set modulo a lower order spatially localized error term, b) with non-trapping assumptions the authors prove global estimates modulo a lower order spatially localized error term, and c) for time independent operators with no resonance or eigenvalue at the bottom of the spectrum the authors prove global estimates for the projection onto the continuous spectrum.
