Let \(G/K\) be a non-compact Riemann symmetric space of rank one, \(G\) a connected simple Lie group, \(K\subset G\) a maximal compact subgroup, and \(G^{\mathbb C}\) the universal complexification of \(G\). Assume that \(G\) operates real-analytically as a group of holomorphic transformations on a holomorphically separable manifold \(Y\) and that \(Y\) is a \(G\)-equivariant Riemann domain over the Stein manifold \(G^{\mathbb C}/K^{\mathbb C}\) with respect to a locally biholomorphic \(G\)-equivariant map \(p:Y\rightarrow G^{\mathbb C}/K^{\mathbb C}\). The authors are interested in the question whether \(p\) is already an embedding, and one of their main results is as follows: If \(G\subset G^{\mathbb C}\) or \(G\) has finite center and if \(G\not= \text{SL}(2,\mathbb R)\), then \(p\) is injective. An example is given for \(G=\text{SL}(2,\mathbb R)\), where \(p\) is not injective. A second main result, following from the first one, is related to the case when \(Y\) is a holomorphically separable \(G\times K\)-manifold and a \(G\times K\)-equivariant Riemann domain \(p:Y\rightarrow G^{\mathbb C}\), where \(K\) operates on \(G^{\mathbb C}\) by right translations: If \(G\) has finite center and is not a covering of \(\text{SL}(2,\mathbb R)\), then \(p\) is injective. The last assumption is necessary due to a counterexample by K. Oeljeklaus for \(G=\text{SO}_0(2,1)\). The proofs of these results combine methods from several fields, in particular from geometric invariant theory about the structure of categorial quotients of Stein spaces with respect to compact transformation groups [see \textit{P. Heinzner}, Math. Ann. 289, No.~4, 631--662 (1991; Zbl 0728.32010)], and from complex geometry. The authors give a detailed description of the \(G\)-orbit structure of \(G^{\mathbb C}/K^{\mathbb C}\). They compute the Levi form for all hypersurface \(G\)-orbits in \(G^{\mathbb C}\) and classify all Stein \(G\)-invariant domains in \(G^{\mathbb C}/K^{\mathbb C}\). For equivariant Riemann domains over complex Lie groups with respect to compact and nilpotent groups [see also \textit{G. Cœuré} and \textit{J.-J. Loeb}, C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 302, 59--61 (1986; Zbl 0588.32014)].
