The authors study differential invariants of scalar linear second-order hyperbolic equations in two and three spatial dimensions. Their approach is based on the explicit construction of the infinitesimal generators of the equivalence transformations of the equations. As application they construct in two spatial dimensions the equivalence class of the equation with constant coefficients.
