Motivated by the recent interest in random tilings of compact Euclidean manifolds, the author investigates non-deterministic triangulations of spherical 3-manifolds. They are based on planar tilings with an inflation structure and a rearrangement structure that introduces some randomness (leading to entropy of rank 2 in this case). Several examples are worked out in detail, including explicit expressions for the configurational entropy.
