For minimal surface singularities (i.e., rational singularities with reduced fundamental cycle) the equisingularity type of a generic discriminant is determined by the equisingularity type of the singularity, so by its resolution graph [\textit{R. Bondil}, C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 337, No. 3, 195--200 (2003; Zbl 1053.14040)]. The author shows how to determine the invariants of the discriminant from a more condensed weighted graph, which is the (non-unique) weighted limit tree, introduced by \textit{T. de Jong} and \textit{D. van Straten} [J. Algebr. Geom. 3, No. 1, 117--172 (1994; Zbl 0822.14004)]; this tree describes the non-isolated singularity, which is the limit of a series of singularities, containing the given singularity, while the extra weightings allow to recover its place in the series.
