The paper discusses a first-order dynamic equation on time scales for the one-dimensional \(p\)-Laplacian: \[ \begin{cases} \varphi_p(u^\Delta(t))=h(t)f(u^\sigma(t)),\quad t\in[a,b]_{\mathbb{T}}\\ u(a)=B_0(u^\Delta(b)),\end{cases} \] where \(\mathbb{T}\) is a time scale and \(\varphi_p(s)=| x|^{p-2}s\) with \(p>1\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian. The function \(f: [0,\infty)\to [0,\infty)\) is continuous and \(h: [a,b]_{\mathbb{T}}\to[0,\infty)\) is right-dense continuous such that the product \(h(t)f(u^\sigma(t))\) is nonincreasing in \(t\in[a,b]_{\mathbb{T}}\) for nondecreasing functions \(u\), with \(hf\) not identically zero. The boundary operator \(B_0: \mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}\) is continuous and almost linear, that is there exist constants \(0\leq B_1\leq B_2\) such that \[ B_1x\leq B_0(x)\leq B_2x,\quad \forall\,x\geq0. \] Then, the author proves the existence of at least one positive solution in the sub-linear case with respect to the \(p\)-Laplacian, that is \[ \lim_{x\to0^+}\frac{f(x)}{\varphi_p(x)}=\infty\;\text{ and }\;\lim_{x\to+\infty}\frac{f(x)}{\varphi_p(x)}=0. \] Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem of cone compression and extension is employed. An example with a bounded nonlinearity \(f\) is provided.
