\textit{F. G. Mehler}'s formula for Hermite polynomials from 1866 [J. Reine Angew. Math. 66, 161--176 (1866; ERAM 066.1720cj)] has been extensively generalized and applied in many areas of mathematics and theoretical physics. (see e.g. \textit{L. Hörmander} [Math. Z. 219, No. 3, 413--449 (1995; Zbl 0829.35150)] or \textit{P. Graczyk} and \textit{A. Nowak} [C.R. Acad. Sci. Ser. 1, 338, No. 11, 849--852 (2004; Zbl 1070.33010)]. The main purpose of the paper under review is to give a wider generalization of the Mehler formula for a special class of multivariable multi-index polynomials, containing as special cases the heat polynomials, incomplete Hermite polynomials, and other polynomials. The results are however, too complicated to be stated here.
