It is considered waves on the surface of an infinitely deep expanse of a heavy inviscid fluid bounded above by an elastic membrane and moving under gravity without friction between the membrane and the fluid. The attention restricted on the waves that have period \(2\pi\) in the horizontal dimension. The authors use local methods to study the bifurcation of symmetric, \(2\pi\)-periodic steady waves travelling with speed \(c_0\) on the surface of the fluid.
