The author proves some fixed point theorems for maximalizing mappings in partially ordered sets by using the chain method given in [\textit{S. Heikkilä}, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 47, No.~4, 2387--2394 (2001; Zbl 1042.35541)]. Concrete examples of maximalizing mappings which have a fixed point or not are presented and compared with other chain methods.
