    For \(f\in C^{m}[a,b]\), the generalized \({m-}\)th Taylor polynomial is given by \[ P_{m}[f;a,b](x)=f(a)+\sum\limits_{k=1}^{m}\frac{B_{k}\left( \frac{x-a} {h}\right) -B_{k}(0)}{k!}(f^{(k-1)}(b)-f^{(k-1)}(a)), \] where \(B_{k} (x),\;k=1,2,\dots,m\) are the Bernoulli polynomials and \(h=b-a.\) The quasi-interpolation operator \(L_{B}\) [see \textit{R. K. Beatson} and \textit{M. J. D. Powell}, Constructive Approximation 8, No.~3, 275--288 (1992; Zbl 0763.41012)], is defined by \[ (L_{B}f)(x)=f(x_{0})\psi_{0}(x)+\sum_{i=1}^{N-1}f(x_{i})\psi_{i} (x)+f(x_{N})\psi_{N}(x),\quad x\in[ a,b], \] where \[ \begin{aligned} \psi_{0}(x)&= \frac{1}{2}+\frac{\varphi_{1}(x)-\varphi_{0}(x)}{2(x_{1} -x_{0})},\\ \psi_{i}(x)&= \frac{\varphi_{i+1}(x)-\varphi_{i}(x)}{2(x_{i+1}-x_{i})} -\frac{\varphi_{i}(x)-\varphi_{i-1}(x)}{2(x_{i}-x_{i-1})},\quad i=1,2,\dots,N-1\text{and} \psi_{_{N}}(x)&=\frac{1}{2}-\frac{\varphi_{N}(x)-\varphi_{N-1}(x)} {2(x_{N}-x_{N-1})}. \end{aligned} \] Here \[ \varphi_{j}(x):=\varphi(x-x_{j})=\sqrt{(x-x_{j})^{2}+c^{2}}. \] By combining the operator \(L_{B}\) with the \({m-}\)th Taylor polynomials one obtains a kind of Bernoulli-type quasi-interpolation operator \(L_{B_{m}}\) in the from: \[ (L_{Bm}f)(x)=\sum_{i=0}^{N}\psi_{i}(x)P_{m}[f;x_{i},x_{i+1}](x) \quad\text{with} \quad x_{N+1}=x_{N-1}. \] The operator \(L_{Bm}\) reproduces all polynomials of degree \(\leq m\) and for \(f\in C^{m}[a,b]\) one obtains an upper bound for \(\left\| L_{Bm} -f\right\| _{\infty},\) in terms of \(\| f^{(m)}\| _{\infty }\). Numerical illustrative examples are considered.
