The existence of analytical solutions \((\beta_0{},p_1,{}\dots,p{}_R)\) of the constrained system \[ \sum_{j=1}^R(x_{2j}-x_{*j}A)/(1+A)=0,\quad x_{*j}-np_j(1+\beta_0c_j)/(1+A)=0, j=1,\dots,R; \] \[ p_j>0,\quad j=1,\dots,R; \quad \sum_{j=1}^Rp_j=1),\text{ where }x_{*j}=x_{1j}+x_{2j},\;n=\sum_{j=1}^R x_{*j},\;A=\beta_{0}\sum_{m=1}^Rc_mp_m, \] is discussed, by applying the matrix inversion principle through Schur complement to a certain sub-system. An application to statistical road accident modelling is given. The obtained solutions are then compared with the ones deductible via Newton-Raphson methods.
