In this paper a certain class of multiloop Lie algebras associated with finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras are studied, which are obtained by the multiloop realization of \textit{B. Allison, S. Berman, J. Faulkner} and \textit{A. Pianzola} [Forum Math. 20, No. 3, 395--432 (2008; Zbl 1157.17009)]. It is known that such a multiloop Lie algebra with certain conditions is a Lie \(\mathbb{Z}^n\)-torus by the same authors [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 361, No. 9, 4807--4842 (2009; Zbl 1208.17019)]. On the other hand, \textit{E. Neher} [C. R. Math. Acad. Sci., Soc. R. Can. 26, No. 3, 90--96 (2004; Zbl 1072.17012)] constructed a family of extended affine Lie algebras (EALAs) from a centerless Lie \(\mathbb{Z}^n\)-torus. In the paper under review the author improves Neher's method. It is shown that a family of EALAs can be constructed from a multiloop Lie algebra with weaker conditions, that is, it is not necessarily a Lie \(\mathbb{Z}^n\)-torus. Moreover, the author introduces an equivalence relation ``support-isomorphic'' for multiloop Lie algebras and shows that the EALAs constructed from multiloop Lie algebras are isomorphic if and only if the original multiloop Lie algebras are support-isomorphic.
