The authors studies a class of flows similar to the Lorenz flow, but with the difference that the studied flows are contracing. These flows include the Rovella attractor [\textit{A. Rovella}, Bol. Soc. Bras. Mat., Nova Sér. 24, No. 2, 233--259 (1993; Zbl 0797.58051)]. They prove that for the potential \(\phi = t \log J\), where \(J\) denotes the Jacobean in the unstable direction, there exists an equilibrium measure. Moreover they study the Lyapunov spectrum \(L (\alpha)\), where \(L (\alpha)\) is the Hausdorff dimension of the set of points with Lyapunov exponent \(\alpha\). They prove that the Lyapunov spectrum satisfies \[ L (\alpha) - 2 = \frac{1}{\alpha} \inf_{t \in \mathbb{R}} (p(t) + t\alpha) = \frac{1}{\alpha} ( p(t_\alpha) + t_\alpha \alpha), \] where \(p (t)\) is the pressure function and \(t_\alpha\) satisfies \(D p(t_\alpha) = - \alpha\). This is done by quotienting out the contracting directions and study a one-dimensional map.
