The broken stick reconsidered again (Q968795)

The author sketches a brief historical survey concerning the concept of ``uniform distribution'', or more generally ``at random'', pointing out some further details with respect to a previous article by \textit{G. S. Goodman} [Math. Intell. 30, No. 3, 43--49 (2008; Zbl 1194.60014)]. In particular, the focus is on the ''broken stick'' problem, about which several interesting comments are supplied.
