The author give a characterization of sendograph-convergence of a sequence of fuzzy sets defined on Euclidean space \(\mathbb R^d\) by means of their \(L_p\)-- and levelwise convergence. The main results are Theorems 11 and 17. As application, the author finds an alternative straightforward way to demonstrate the characterization of weakly compact sets with respect to sendograph metric as stated by \textit{G.\,H.\thinspace Greco} in [Fuzzy Sets Syst.\ 157, No.\,2, 286--291 (2006; Zbl 1085.54004)] and an alternative measurability condition for fuzzy random variables. Note that \textit{Z.-T.\thinspace Zhao} and the reviewer studied the same problem in [Inf.\ Sci.\ 179, No.\,17, 3018--3025 (2009; Zbl 1177.26062)].
