The present paper deals with the application of diagonally implicit RungeKutta schemes to dissipative evolution equations in Hilbert spaces. Under certain conditions onto to the Runge-Kutta schemes which in particular imply \(B\)-stability, the authors show a convergence result. The result is unconditional, that is, no restriction on the initial value and no extra regularity on the solution is required. The main point is that the discrete time-\(h\) forward operater heritates the dissipativity from the underlying strong solution of the evolution equation. Finally, some examples modeling the gas flow through a porous media are provided to demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the method.
