The authors first give elementary reviews of both Feng-shui theory and fuzzy ranking methods. They claim that due to the imprecise or vague satisfaction level of the linguistic expression used in Feng-shui, fuzzy set theory can naturally be applied to Feng-shui conform layout problems. They give a case study using an efficient fuzzy weighted average (EFWA) algorithm. Though this approach may seem unusual, it appears to be no less mathematically sound as other case studies in fuzzy optimization, or in Feng-shui.
