A two-parameter family of one-dimensional maps and the related \( (a,b) \)-continued fractions are studied. The main result concerns the natural extention map of \( f_{a,b} \). The authors prove the existence of global attractor consisting of two connected components each having finite rectangular structure. The applications to coding geodesis and the computation of invariant measures associated with the proposed transformations are presented.
