The author extends some classical results on transitive linear Lie equations to the intransitive case. The paper starts with a readable survey of the basic facts on groupoids and algebroids of jets, the calculus over the diagonal according to B. Malgrange and the construction of the first linear and non-linear Spencer complexes. Then the related properties of partial connections are studied. The main result of the paper reads that formal isomorphism of intransitive linear Lie equations along transversal to the orbits can be extended to neigborhoods of these transversal. Further, the author associates an intransitive Lie algebra with each intransitive linear Lie equation that gives the structure functions introduced by É. Cartan.
