Let \(X\) be a Banach space and let \(e^{-tA}\), \(t\geq 0\), be a uniformly bounded \(C_0\)-semigroup of operators on \(X\) with generator \(-A\). For any \(\alpha,\varepsilon> 0\) the author defines a generalized vector-valued Stieltjes transform by the formula \[ f\to S_\alpha f(\varepsilon)x= \int^\infty_0 f(t)(t+\varepsilon+ A)^{-\alpha} x\,dt, \] where \(f\) is a Schwartz function and \(x\in X\). The operator \(S_\alpha f(s)\) is a bounded linear operator on \(X\). Several properties are proved. This transform extends the ordinary \((\alpha=1)\) vector-valued Stieltjes transform introduced by \textit{C. Lizama} and \textit{H. Prado} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 50, No. 198, 197-206 (1999; Zbl 0932.44002)]. The formula above requires first the definition of the fractional powers of the resolvent. The presence of \(\varepsilon\) makes the definition more flexible.
